The aim of the Association is to keep alive and to foster the unique spirit of 84 Squadron, Royal Air Force, and to encourage ex-members of the Squadron, especially those younger members, to keep in touch with their old comrades.

The Association forms a lasting bond between 84 Squadron and all its present and past members, aircrew and ground crew, fixed wing and rotary
wing crews alike.

84 Squadron Association is there for you.

Many past and present members of 84 Squadron have failed to answer the call to join the Association, possibly because they felt that “Associations were not for them”.

84 Squadron Association is different. We operate a “no rank” policy and all past and present members of 84 Squadron are invited to join.

Look around other Squadron Associations and you will notice that the headings are littered with the names of Air Marshals, AVM’s etc as presidents, vice presidents and chairmen. Such is the uniqueness of 84 Squadron that our first election for Association President unanimously appointed Corporal Owen Greenwood to the post.

The annual reunion, usually held in September/October, is a tremendous opportunity to meet up with old friends and make some new ones.

Our membership comes from all eras ranging from the 1940’s to the present day. Regular visits to the Squadron in Cyprus are also organised.

The Association’s magazine, Scorpion News, is sent to every member twice a year. Please call all those you know from your time on 84 Squadron and let them know of the benefits of joining a worthwhile and enjoyable Association.

Hoot and Roar!
